Imaginary Friends

Young people in Devon are bringing their Imaginary Friends to life.

'Imaginary Friends' is an interactive, mixed media project created by young people in Devon, supported by Exeter Phoenix and funded by Media Box. Creative professionals will partner specific organisations working with young people to inspire, train and empower them to create their own personal imaginary friends and a world for them to live in. We will be working with young people from Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, Exeter Health Care Arts, Animated Exeter (Young and Animated) and the Devon Youth Inclusion Service. The young people will control the project and work together to create an interactive environment where their imaginary friends can live and be seen. Their work will be showcased on an interactive DVD, on 'Chew TV' a young peoples media website and at an exhibition during the 'Animated Exeter Festival'. 'Imaginary' Friends is an innovative and exciting project that will engage young people, who don’t have easy lives, in creativity, learning new skills and expressing themselves.
