What's new at Phoenix Media

Over the past three months we have been commissioning artists and filmmakers to create new works, to be exhibited iat the end of November at our Two Short Nights film festival. These have taken the form of six short films, one animated film and a digital arts commission. We have also been re-developing and updating our training room. The Creative Lab now has five new G5 Macs with a range of software including video, sound and digital publishing software. When not in use for training sessions, the machines are available for hire to members at £10 per day for non-commercial work.

ARE YOU AN ARTIST WITH A VISION OF THE FUTURE?

Phoenix Media and D+C Film are calling for artists of all disciplines to design the award for Two Short Nights film festival 2008 (28 & 29 Nov). Submissions should be based on the theme "Visions Of The Future". Artists who wish to propose an idea for a new work of art or craft are required to submit a synopsis of their idea (including details of how they intend to realise the design and creation of the work within the given period of three months), a sketch showing how they envisage the finished product looking, an artist statement, CV and/or a short biography including full contact details.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 4 July. The panel will notify the winning artist by Friday 1 August and no other applicants will be contacted. The finished artwork needs to completed and ready for collection by Monday 3 November.
